PAWS Mobile Clinic
The majority of the work carried out by PAWS is done in conjunction with the mobile clinics. These clinics are able to get into the temples and down to the beaches to carry out spay and neuter operations on-site, rather than transporting the animals from one location to another.
The mobile clinics can also be used to visit local schools to educate children on the care and control of both stray and pet animals, as well as local community leaders to educate them on the care and control of strays. By having a focal point of contact in the field, we can obtain public support to collect animals for treatment and release and to lobby the local and central government for better and more humane controls and management for stray animals in Phuket and Thailand.
The mobile clinics are all staffed by full-time vet and clinical assistants, who are trained in the preparation of animals for surgery and simple medical techniques. The on-going field clinics are necessary if we are to be successful in the control of the stray animal population on the Island of Phuket.
Field Clinics can take place anywhere, at anytime - on beaches, in temples, on remote islands, in villages, in schools. You name it, we've carried out a field clinic there. We have even carried out a field clinic INSIDE a human hospital...!
You can see some photographs of our previous field clinics by going to our Gallery Page and you’ll find lots of different field clinics to browse through. Also, take a look at our What’s On Page to find out about upcoming field clinics in the near future!

Some examples of recent field clincs include:
Fisherman's Clinic Patong
Whilst we often conduct Field Clinics in Patong, this was different in that we were accompanied by our friends from Lanna Rescue in Chiang Mai, who wanted to see how we do things!
Laguna Phuket
Laguna Phuket is a fantastic complex with 5 luxury hotels, golf courses, lagoons, fabulous restaurants and shopping. Laguna Phuket were also the Title Sponsors of the "Royal Ascot at Laguna" Fundraising event for PAWS and the money raised goes towards field clinics such as this!
Laem Hin Village, Koh Keaw
Field Clinics can take place anywhere, at anytime - on beaches, in temples, on remote islands, in villages, in schools. You name it, we've carried out a field clinic there. We even carried out a field clinic INSIDE a human hospital...!
Koh Keaw
This was an interesting field clinic as we were setup in the grounds of a local school. So not only did we have a lot of animals to deal with - but we had lots of local school children paying us a visit and watching intently. It provided us with a fantastic opportunity to talk to them and educate them a little in the benefits of our work
Big Buddha Temple
The Big Buddha Temple is relatively new here in Phuket and situated in Chalong with the largest Buddha statue in Southern Thailand. Well worth a visit, the views are spectacular and you can rest assured that all the animals there have been sterilised and vaccinated!
